Just 300 metres from the Franschhoek monument, Akademie Street Boutique Hotel and Guesthouses offers luxurious suites and traditional cottages, some with their own private swimming pools.

All of the accommodation at Akademie Street is set in lush gardens and many have views of the mountains of the Cape Winelands. Each suite or cottage has its own theme.

Gelatenheid Oortuiging and Vreugde each have their own sun-kissed swimming pool and shady, private garden. The fourth building, Uitsig is a separate, large, luxurious upstairs suite with balcony and lovely views. The fifth building, Twyfeling is a gracious Cape Dutch style house with large living rooms and two large bedroom suites. Uitsig and Twyfeling share a large, heated pool and garden.

Travel information	By car: - Arriving at Cape Town International Airport, follow the N2 in the direction of Somerset West. - Turn left where the sign direct you to Stellenbosch (Baden Powell Drive/ R310). - Pass Spier. - At the traffic lights, turn right and continue on this road until the 9th street light. - This 10th streetlight is past the industrial/commercial area of Stellenbosch, just when you enter the countryside. - Look out for signs directing you to Franschhoek on your right. - Turn right and pass Boschendal. - At the T-junction, turn right and continue for about 15 km, until you reach Franschhoek. - Drive through Franschhoek and until the end of town. - With the monument right in front of you, turn left. - Take the second road on your left - Akademie Street.
